This is a tropical colonial style luxury home located on the mountains of San Antonio de Escazu. Inside a small gated compound with 24 hours security and surrounded by gardens and trees, the house is built on a property with one hectare of land, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains on the back and the views of Escazú, San José and the Central Valley are in the front of the house.
The property has eucalyptus trees, pine trees, fruit trees, Llama del Bosque trees, Royal Palms, Bamboo trees and a beautiful nature tropical garden. The outside gardens have walking trails on cement stones, leading to the stables for three horses. The grass for the horses is separated from the tropical garden that surrounds the main house. The gardens are planted with many large varieties of plants that bring butterflies and honey birds, and the bamboo trees bring all different kinds of birds.
The main house is surrounded by a sidewalk made of river stone which protects from the humidity during the raining season, because it serves as a drainage system. An outside storage area serves as a room for the gardeners and utensils and for the house water heaters.
The lobby entrance of Quinta San Antonio is supported by two antique columns made of solid wood imported from India.
The main door is also an antique door imported from India. When you enter to the house you go through a grounded lobby entrance, to the left hand side you got to the living room area and the family area (the bedrooms), and to the right you go to the kitchen and the service area. You find a family room with high ceilings, connected to the outside terrace and to the adjacent formal living room extra large which has 4 different ambiences, a fire place and high ceilings.
The formal living room is also connected to the entrance and the gardens. The living areas have wooden floor in almond, and the terrace and the lobby entrance have clay floors handcrafted specially for the house.
The terrace has big ceilings in solid wood and the social area have high concrete vaulted ceilings. The out side garden has Balinese sculptures and a meditation Pont with Koy Fish. The outside terrace is connected to the tropical gardens to let you admire the views of the city, Central Valley and the mountains.
Two steps down from the living room you walk to a hallway which leads to the bedrooms area. On the first floor you have the master bedroom with a sitting room, high vaulted ceilings, two walking closets, a shower, an antique bath tub and nice views from the sitting room area. Additionally, the house offers a separate guest bedroom that has its own private access from the backyard garden, and two other bedrooms in the second level of the house. The two bedrooms upstairs have its own private bathroom with walking closet each one.
The house also has a very ample kitchen with its own dinning room area for the family. Then it has an ample laundry area and two maid’s quarter with one bathroom to share.
